Despite a career spent playing hallmark comic book and pop culture characters like Darth Maul from "Star Wars: Episode One – The Phantom Menace," Toad from "X-Men" and Snake Eyes from the recent "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," Ray Park still remembers the superhero role that got away.

This past weekend at Chicago Comic-Con, a fan asked Park about his dream role, which Park answered without hesitation. "I actually want to be Danny Rand – I want to be Iron Fist, I want to do it," said Park, who joked about one of the fringe benefits of accepting the role.

"I want to have an excuse to take my top off and show off my abs. Or, take my top off and work to get my abs back that I used to have when I was 19."

Park was originally slated to do just that back in 2001 in a film produced by Artisan Entertainment and directed by Kurt Wong. That incarnation of the franchise didn't happen, and the rights have now reverted back to Marvel, who Park says will likely partner Iron Fist with fellow Hero For Hire Luke Cage.

"If they ever do an Iron Fist movie, it's going to be with the two [characters] teaming up," said Park.

The Scottish Park also acknowledged that while he'd have to make some cosmetic and vocal changes to play an American Danny Rand, he's happy to do so.

"[Changing my look] is something I can easily do and bleach my hair - I've been blond before. I'll work on the American accent as well," said Park.
