The new "Twilight" movie, "New Moon," hit many theaters at midnight last night, no doubt to the delighted squeals of tens of thousands of Twihards. Maybe you're not one of them. Maybe you're tired of the whole sparkly Mormon vampire fetish, or you're still resentful about all those teenage girls at Comic-Con, or you just don't understand what all the fuss is about.

But maybe in those quiet moments in the dead of night, you've still thought about picking up a copy of the book, just to see what the big deal is. Maybe it'll be hilariously bad, you say, and you can laugh at it, or conduct your own version of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" as you read along.

Cartoonist Lucy Knisley has a word of warning for those who think they can dabble in this terribly written (but terribly addicting) vampire romance franchise: Don't. Sure, you think you can just try it once -- just out of curiosity -- and then you can stop any time. But is it really worth the risk?
