Silhouetting has served a number of comic book promotions well of late. The Secret Avengers kept most of their upcoming cast close to the vest while drumming up speculation and Capcom's certainly had success compelling fans to share their "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" wish lists. Still, the practice seems especially appropriate for the supposedly game-changing "Pokémon Black" and "Pokémon White" games on their way in 2011 given the companion games' nomenclature.

Just as our own efforts to identify multiple sets of concealed Avengers resulted in a the creation of images, Anime Vice points out that Pokémonbeach users been inspired to fill-in-the-blanks with art aplenty. Most think the new pocket monsters will resemble previous "starter" beasts of burden with fire, water or grass powers, but a new take on the RPG could wind up thunderbolting the status quo Pikachu style.

The game's expected in Japan in April on the Nintendo DS although a proper announcement about Nintendo's next-gen handheld, expected to be called the 3DS, could always wind up with a port the way old school PKMN fans enhanced their "Blue" and "Red" experiences on Game Boy Color. Either way, there's going to be at least three new monsters you won't be able to keep track of in video games, manga and anime.
