Over the years, we've seen the expansive world of "Star Wars" reinterpreted in a great number of artistic ways from steam punk redesigns all the way to rowdy burlesque shows, not to mention the various Dark Horse comic book series. But there's always room for further invention, as proven by this tremendous gallery of baroque "Star Wars" illustrations.

Swedish artist Mattias Adolfsson has created his very own baroque "Star Wars" universe in a series of wildly imaginative illustrations that reinterpret many of the iconic fixtures from the beloved science fiction franchise, including a baroque Death Star, Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, the Millennium Falcon and much more. My personal favorite is the baroque Chewbacca, who almost looks like a rail thin Cowardly Lion from "The Wizard of Oz." It's also hard to argue against Jabba the powdered or Boba Fett with a hot air balloon jetpack.

You can check out many of Adolfsson's baroque "Star Wars" illustrations for yourself after the jump!
