Could August 10 go down in history as "Called in Sick for Scott Pilgrim Periphera Day?" The simultaneous release of the "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" video game and soundtrack seems to suggest that very possibility. Given that the video game is a timed exclusive on the PS3, however, chances are the greater blame will be placed on fans staying home to jam through the soundtrack's 19, newly-announced jams.

We've known about a few of the soundtrack's definite inclusions for awhile - namely that Beck was writing Sex Bob-Omb's tunes and that Metric's "Black Sheep" would definitely make an appearance on the album. It's also nice to cement the inclusion of SP's namesake from Plumtree, along with plenty of Broken Social Scene tunes (some made just for the film under the name "Crash and the Boys") from Pilgrim's own land of Canada.

Even if you don't skip work for the SP soundtrack or video game, it looks like streaming at least a portion of the film's music from school or office headphones is likely for fans as they await the film's Aug 13 release date to give all tie-in merchandise full meaning.
