The animated shorts from FOX's "MAD TV" may be a thing of the past, but Cartoon Network's upcoming "MAD" animated series more than makes up for it with a collage of cartoon pop culture parodies and original shorts populating full episodes. CN's released a new trailer for show in anticipation of its September 6 premiere, and so far it seems like a nice bridge between "MAD's" magazine content and the variety show aspects of "Robot Chicken" -- especially if you're in touch with your inner 12-year-old.The show's level of humor should come as no real surprise to fans, given the DC Comics magazine's long history of toilet jokes and quasi all ages puns. Within the trailer's less than two minute duration, viewers are bombarded with "Avatar" Parody "Avaturd," a "CSI: Miami" and "iCarly" mashup, a zombie Bambi and "2012 Dalmatians."

So far executive producer Sam Register ("Batman: The Brave and the Bold") and producers Kevin Shinick ("Robot Chicken") and Mark Marek ("KaBlam!") seem to be delivering what the series' target audience will crave. Sure, you'll probably roll your eyes more than you'll genuinely snicker at the trailer's content, but in the best possible way.
