Marvel's Cup o' Joe panel at New York Comic Con 2010 consisted mostly of a question and answer session, but there were a few interesting revelations over the course of the presentation. Marvel's Arune Singh brought up the return of CrossGen by saying one name: Mark Waid, who was a writer for CrossGen before it went out of business. It looks like Waid may be writing "Ruse" once again when CrossGen comes back. After the jump are a couple of major announcements regarding Brian Michael Bendis, Alex Maleev, and ESPN.ON "MOON KNIGHT": Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev have been working together for years, with their most popular book probably being a long run on "Daredevil." Their current creator-owned series, "Scarlet," is doing very well, but they're going to jump back into the Marvel Universe with a relaunch of "Moon Knight" in 2011. They have been working on "Moon Knight" while "Scarlet" has been coming out, so the two series will run alongside each other. Marvel says the pair of creators will redefine Moon Knight they did Daredevil several years ago.

ON ESPN: Marvel is collaborating with ESPN to produce an NBA Preview project which involves superhero iconography paired with sports iconography. There will be at least 30 images created by Marvel artists from Greg Horn to Dougie Braithwaite. Horn actually created an image of Kobe Bryant as the bearer of the Infinity Gauntlet, a clear reference to his five NBA Championship rings. After that announcement, the panel gave way to Q&A.

ON "TAKIO": As we reported previously, Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming have been working on "Powers" together for years, but in a few months, after "Powers" wraps up its current storyline, the pair are going to team-up on "Takio," an all-ages creator-owned comic out of Icon. This series is about two sisters in an adopted family and what happens when they get superpowers while still having to be home by bedtime. Bendis and Oeming say they have a good twist on the gimmick, which is a little similar to Marvel's "Power Pack," so it will be interesting to see how the series shakes out. "Takio" launches in February 2011, and Bendis's daughter Olivia even chipped in with a few ideas. Bendis and Oeming's "Takio" and "Powers" should alternate publishing, similar to the publishing scheme of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips' "Criminal" and "Incognito."
