While the actor himself is very pleased that his former Two Guys and a Girl co-star Ryan Reynolds will portray Green Lantern on film, Nathan Fillion fans have always believed the handsome star of Firefly and Castle is best suited for the role of Hal Jordan. Indeed, one fan created an astonishingly good faux trailer for a Fillion-starring Green Lantern film that sits on par with Warner Bros.' official preview in terms of generating excitement. So it seems that DC Entertainment is meeting the anarchist commune that is the Web halfway with the casting of Nathan Fillion as the voice of Hal Jordan in Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, a forthcoming animated feature from Warner Premiere's DC Universe line.

Executive Produced by DC animation mastermind Bruce Timm, Emerald Knights co-stars the voices of Elizabeth Moss, Jason Isaacs, Kelly Hu, Henry Rollins and Roddy Piper.
Emerald Knights is not a sequel to the previously released Green Lantern: First Flight, but rather an anthology film featuring stories of several key members of the Green Lantern Corps including Abin Sur, Sinestro, Kilowog, Mogo, and Rori Dag. In the same mode as the animated Batman: Gotham Knights anthology, which was released to coincide with The Dark Knight live-action feature, Emerald Knights will drop in June of this year to help promote Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern film.

For his part, Fillion is happy to be sharing some of the Green Lantern glow with his former sitcom castmate. The actor told TV Guide, "I was always reading the comic books, I was always a spectator. Now I feel like I own a little piece of Green Lantern." Of Reynolds, Fillion added, "He's a great guy, a gem, deserves all the success that he's getting, so it's neat to have a little piece and share it with someone you know."
