Grant Morrison is to write the graphic novel and screenplay for Dominion: Dinosaurs Versus Aliens, according to a new report from Deadline Hollywood. The project, which is to be directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, will obviously tell the story of a prehistoric battle between dinosaurs and ancient alien invaders. Dinosaurs Versus Aliens is being produced under the auspices of Liquid Comics (formerly Virgin Comics) and the graphic novel will be illustrated by sus .Already dubbed by Mark Waid as "We300Million," the Dominion: Dinosaurs Versus Aliens project is one of numerous film or television titles associated with Liquid Comics. Originally founded as Virgin Comics by author Deepak Chopra, his son Gotham Chopra and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, among other entrepreneurs (including Richard Branson), the company specializes in comics based on Asian culture and mythology as well as comics created with celebrities. Kapur, Guy Ritchie, Nicolas Cage, porn star Jenna Jameson, the Eurhytmics' Dave Stewart, Terry Gilliam, Duran Duran and John Woo were among the famous contributors to the line, which was devised with a clear pathway to Hollywood film or television development. As of this writing, no Virgin/Liquid Comics mass media project has yet to manifest, although numerous properties are reportedly in development.


Morrison and artist Mukesh Singh teamed previously on 18 Days, an illustrated script book for a proposed animated series, co-published by Liquid and Dynamite Entertainment. The Dominion: Dinosaurs Versus Aliens graphic novel is meant to come out later in 2011.

Best known for the Addams Family and Men in Black films, Barry Sonnenfeld told Deadline that Dominion is "a dream come true."

"Growing up, my fascination was all things dinosaur, and as an adult, I've had some success making films about aliens, so this is a dream come true."
