Movie Star Sinestro Leads DC’s Green Lantern Titles in October

DC Comics has been deploying cover art and solicitations for October-shipping titles according to the newly defined sections of what fans are calling the DCnÜ. So far we've seen hints of what's coming up in the Batman family of titles as well as those designated Edge and Dark. Today we've got the publisher's auspicious line of Green Lantern books, although you're out of luck if Hal Jordan is your favorite ring-slinger.

Read on only if you don't mind SPOILERS for "War of the Green Lanterns."On sale now, Green Lantern #67 concluded the "War of the Green Lanterns" storyline, which saw lead character Hal Jordan dismissed by the Guardians of the Universe and sent back to Earth. In his place, Sinestro once again wields a Green Lantern ring, one given to him as a consequence of the death of Mogo, whose function was to ensure that only non-douchebags possessed rings.

As startling as this development is, we agree with the strategy of putting Sinestro, unquestionably the breakout star of the Green Lantern film, front and center of DC's Green Lantern publishing franchise. Long live Sinestro!
