‘Marvel: Avengers Alliance’ Game Coming to Facebook [Video]

If you've been plotting social media revenge against friends and family who clog your feed with Farmville updates, you may soon be able to make yours Marvel. Facebook users will soon have access to the Disney Interactive Media Group's Playdom studios creation, Marvel: Avengers Alliance, a combat role playing game that casts players as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent responsible for leading handpicked Avengers teams against various villainous threats. Tapping into the game's inherently social nature, players will be able to square off against one another, as well.

The game's battles will be fueled by a new storyline created for the game that involves a cosmic disaster known as "the Pulse." This event sets up Manhattan as the stage for a conflict between heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man and others against villains including Loki, Red Skull, Doctor Doom and more. Though the game's timing and title certainly fit in with the release of The Avengers movie this summer, the game is inclusive of the wider Marvel universe.
