A rebooted Spider-Man movieverse debuts in theaters next week, but fans can get some insight into the film via its semi-sequel starting today with the release of Activision and Beenox's new The Amazing Spider-Man video game. Even if you're not oozing with enthusiasm to see Marc Webb's attitude-infused movie starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, the game's launch trailer seems to drive home the point that it might deliver the goods general Spidey gamers are after - namely an open-world New York City to explore and a bunch of bad guys to pummel. CA's Andy Yen tried out the title during E3 and dug the title's upgraded webslinging and wallcrawling mechanics and was impressed enough by its new combat system to compare it to Batman: Arkham City. The launch trailer is mostly a cinematic romp to the tune of a new Garbage song, though, so your impressions may vary.
