20th Century Fox still hasn’t released the special teaser for X-Men: Apocalypse that debuted at Comic-Con a couple of weeks ago, but director Bryan Singer is still keeping in touch with fans and revealing new videos and photos from the set on a regular basis. His latest photo takes us to a familiar place and teases the origins of Storm, played in the upcoming sequel by Alexandra Shipp.

Singer posted the following on his Instagram account, offering a look at their Cairo set, which looks to have been completely demolished by someone…or something:

That someone is likely Storm. As teased at the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Apocalypse’s titular big bad (played by Oscar Isaac) has origins in Egypt — he is likely the oldest mutant, and perhaps the very first. But he’s not the only one who comes from that part of the world. Ororo Munroe, aka Storm, grew up in Cairo, putting her right on Apocalypse’s home turf.

At Comic-Con, Isaac referred to Storm, Psylocke, Angel/Archangel and Magneto as his “followers,” and in recent interviews he’s also discussed the Four Horseman, comparing his role to that of a cult leader.

Now that Days of Future Past wiped the continuity slate clean, it’s opened the X-Men universe to new possibilities — like giving Storm an origin story in which she enters the picture as a bad guy.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
