It’s pretty well-documented that the flow between Marvel’s cinematic properties and TV series has often been a one-way street, though Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. most often plays ball with the MCU-defining tentpoles. Now, Marvel may be in for a Civil War all its own, as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has seemingly spoiled the upcoming Captain America ending ahead of time.

Take this with a grain of salt for the moment (and some serious potential spoilers), as Marvel brass surely had final say in what press releases go out when, though it should at least strike as odd that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s upcoming synopsis for May 10 outing “Emancipation” spoils a very specific outcome to Captain America: Civil War:

With only two episodes left before S.H.I.E.L.D. loses one of their own, Daisy’s prophecy ticks closer towards a major loss, as the aftermath of the events of “Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War” force S.H.I.E.L.D. to register the Inhumans, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, MAY 10 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network.

This isn’t the first time Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has suggested as much, as an earlier synopsis stated more vaguely that “S.H.I.E.L.D. feels pressure to reveal their involvement with Inhumans.” Not only that, Civil War might craft any number of endings to feature that specific outcome, though it would seem likely that Iron Man’s argument at least wins the title fight.

In the meantime, Captain America: Civil War will hit theaters on May 6, while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 will wrap its third season on May 17.
