Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. expanded its comic cred significantly in Season 2 with a fuller focus on Hydra and the Inhumans, while its finale pointed toward Nick Fury’s famed “Secret Warriors.” Now, Agents has gone ahead and confirmed that Season 3 will introduce the new team, led by Skye Daisy “Quake” Johnson!

As has been teased over Marvel’s Instagram the last few days, Variety confirms that Season 3 of Marvel’s Avengers-adjacent series will see at least some incarnation of the Secret Warriors, an arrival heavily foreshadowed by Coulson’s finale vow to construct a team of super-powered heroes. The connection was further solidified by a “Caterpillars” easter egg on the folder handed to Skye, a codename from the comics belonging to the team.

To boot, dedicated fans in attendance of Comic-Con 2015 may find themselves targeted by “S.H.I.E.L.D. ambassadors,” and given a Secret Warriors pin that recipients can have retweeted by official social media with the hashtag #SHIELDSecretWarriors.

Premiering September 29, we know of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 that series regulars Adrianne Palicki (Mockingbird) and Nick Blood (Lance Hunter) will return, ABC having abandoned plans for a spinoff centered around the pair, while Henry Simmons (Mack) and Luke Mitchell (Lincoln) have both been upgraded to series regular. The series will presumably also help build up to Captain America: Civil War, breaking midway for Agent Carter Season 2.

Comic-Con 2015 will bring much clearer insight into Season 3's Secret Warriors, but is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. building up to its most Marvel-ous year yet? Who should Coulson and Quake recruit for their new team?
