UPDATE: If you really need a better look at Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, we've included the cover for the upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly, which gives you a much bigger view.

_______

If you’re going to make a movie called ‘Ant-Man’ about a superhero with the power to shrink down to tiny proportions and talk to insects, you better have a sense of humor about it. And that they do. Marvel has released the first ‘Ant-Man’ poster and you might want to get our your magnifying glasses for this one.

At first glance, you might look at this poster and go, “Huh?” before realizing that way in the background is a very, very tiny—almost ant-sized—superhero. That’s Scott Lang, a.k.a. Ant-Man himself just chilling among a sea of white. It’s almost a genius way to introduce the character to audiences while still having some fun with it. We complain a lot about the giant, floating heads of Photoshopped movie posters, so let’s give this one some credit for doing something different.

This is just the beginning of today’s ‘Ant-Man’ news as the first trailer debuts tonight during the premiere of ‘Agent Carter’ on ABC. (And, if that’s not enough Marvel for you, next week the ‘Avengers 2' trailer will on Monday during the College Football National Championship.)

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

In addition to Rudd, Douglas and Evangeline Lilly as Wasp, ‘Ant-Man’ also stars Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Judy Greer, John Slattery and rapper T.I.

‘Ant-Man’ opens in theaters on July 17.
