The CW is attempting to keep interest in Arrow, its new series based on DC Comics' Green Arrow, high with the release of new images from the show's pilot. For those who missed the "mask made out of make-up" look of Smallville's Black Canary, this is definitely a good thing. The images were released earlier this week to tie into the CW's presentation during the Television Critics Association Press Tour, and show series stars Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy and David Ramsey in various scenes from the first episode of the series. During the CW's presentation, Marc Guggenheim, one of the show's executive producers, said that the show is definitely looking to some well-loved Green Arrow comics for guidance. "We're definitely taking a lot of inspiration from Green Arrow: Year One and Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters," the Hollywood Reporter quoted him as telling the audience, adding that "Green Arrow has an origin that's subject to a lot of interpretation. We always start with the comic as our source of inspiration."

Arrow debuts October 10 on the CW.
