With news breaking out of this year's San Diego Comic-Con that Peter David will be penning scripts for an all-new "Young Justice" animated series on Cartoon Network, it should come as no surprise that the folks over at DC would be gearing up a new "Young Justice" monthly comic to expand on the series' unique universe -- and that's exactly what the publisher is doing.

According to a report pubbed yesterday at Newsarama, DC has announced that the Eisner winning duo of Art Baltazar and Franco Aureliani (Tiny Titans) will be teaming up to write the new "Young Justice" ongoing series, with Mike Norton supplying the art. Based on the concept of the TV series, the new team will feature Superboy, Robin, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, the new Aqualad, and Artemis, and is set to hit comic shops sometime in November. While details of the creative team's plans remain under of veil of secrecy, both Baltazar and Aureliani are quick to point out that the series will be laden with humor, but at the same time, the heroes will be dealing with both teenage issues as well as coping with the responsibilities that come with being a superhero. Likewise, the writers say that they've had a chance to read some of the scripts from the upcoming animated series, and promise fans won't be disappointed with either the show or the comics.

"We were given the TV script to read and we just loved these characters and the stories they're telling," Aureliani told Newsarama. "We were just amazed we're able to work with this really cool stuff they're doing on the TV show."
