Marvel Pushing Back ‘Inhumans’ to Avoid Disney’s ‘Indiana Jones’ Reboot
In October of 2014 at a Marvel event in Los Angeles, Kevin Feige and Marvel announced a November 2, 2018 for Inhumans, their latest superhero team. But a funny thing happens when you announce a movie’s release date four years in advance? Things change and life, uh, finds a way as Dr. Ian Malcolm would say. And so, Marvel has now pushed back Inhumans to an as-yet-undecided date to get out of the way of another Disney blockbuster: Indiana Jones 5.
‘Captain America: Civil War’ Was Originally Not a ‘Civil War’ Movie
Back in 2014, Marvel held a big event in Los Angeles to announce their upcoming slate of films. Marvel President Kevin Feige took the stage and announced the new Captain America movie would be called… Captain America: The Serpent Society? After much confusion (and even a fake logo!), Feige eventually let everyone in on the joke, bringing out Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans to announce Captain America: Civil War. But it turns out there was some truth to that gag. According to the writers of Civil War, Civil War wasn’t always Civil War.
‘Batman vs. Superman’ R-Rated Edition May Get Released in Theaters
After a disappointing weekend that saw it lose to a horrible Melissa McCarthy comedy in only its third week of release, Batman v Superman looks poised for a total domestic run between $325 and $340 million. That’s below Deadpool, Furious 7 and even American Sniper and certainly not what Warner Bros. had hoped for their big (and expensive) movie. Current projections indicate that Batman v Superman won’t turn a profit when all is said and done. Hoping to inch closer to profitability, Warner Bros. is reportedly mulling the idea of releasing Zack Snyder’s extended, R-rated cut of Batman v Superman directly to theaters.
The One ‘Batman vs. Superman’ Scene That Was Even Too Dark For Zack Snyder
Whether you look at it as a positive or a negative, Batman v Superman was empirically a dark movie. Whether it was needlessly killing Jimmy Olsen or Batman wanting to stab Superman in the heart or all the other assorted murder going on, it was just a dark movie, and that’s what director Zack Snyder wanted. But even for him, there was one scene that was too dark and needed to be cut from the final film.
Yes, Other Marvel Characters Will Appear in Sony’s ‘Spider-Man’ Spinoff
When Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios agreed on a deal to essentially share Spider-Man, the first thing they decided on was that he would be formally introduced in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. After all, if you’re going to have a deal with Marvel, you might as well take advantage of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and their many characters. Also, that’s a door that swings both ways, which means that, yes, some of your favorite Avengers will be making an appearance in Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spinoff.
Warner Bros. Sets Two Mystery DC Films For 2018 and 2019
Just a few hours after a report in The Hollywood Reporter claiming that Warner Bros. would be releasing fewer movies in the years ahead to focus on LEGO, Harry Potter and the DC Cinematic Universe, the studio has at least made good on one of those promises. Warner Bros. has officially set release dates for two mystery DC Cinematic Universe projects in 2018 and 2019.
After ‘Batman vs. Superman’ Letdown, Warner Bros. Will Reportedly Release Fewer Films
Batman vs. Superman opened to negative reviews and mixed word of mouth. All that could have been forgiven if it was a box-office juggernaut, but after an impressive opening weekend, Dawn of Justice is sinking like a stone. With the film now unlikely to reach $1 billion — the new benchmark for franchise success in Hollywood — Warner Bros...

Did Sony Pictures Accidentally Reveal the Title of the ‘Spider-Man’ Reboot?
As we’ve learned multiple times over the course of the years, the best kept secrets of studios can often be spoiled in the most mundane ways. Like how action figures or LEGO sets reveal our first looks at new characters or big action scenes...
‘Suicide Squad’ Undergoes Expensive Reshoots to Make it More Fun
When the Suicide Squad trailer was released, most remarked at how fun it looked in sharp contrast to the bleak, dark world of Batman v Superman. Fans connected to it immediately in a very big way; to this day the Suicide Squad trailer has about 15 million more views on YouTube than the Batman vs. Superman trailer, which came out over a month earlier. But, it may have all been a clever trick of editing. It turns out the movie was not as fun or funny as you might have expected and now, according to reports, Warner Bros. has sunk a lot of money into expensive reshoots to help lighten the tone of the DC Cinematic Universe.
