Perhaps taking a cue from the Internet's instinct to remix and mash-up things with other things, The Hub cable network has released a new advertisement in support of an upcoming programming block of Batman: The Animated Series -- the classic cartoon to which many ComicsAlliance contributors owe their livelihoods -- that recuts clips from the show to match up with the The Dark Knight Rises trailer. But what sets this clip apart from other montages edited to the music and dialogue of live-action movie trailers is that the Hub commissioned original voice actors Kevin Conroy and Adrienne Barbeau to recreate the memorably grim dialogue from the trailer for Christopher Nolan's new Batman film. The results are predictably cool and even fascinating in how differently Conroy's Batman interprets the dialogue written for Dark Knight Rises star Christian Bale.

Directed by Christopher Nolan and based on DC Comics characters created by Bob Kane, Bill Finger, Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, Graham Nolan and others, The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20 in the U.S. The Hub's Batman: The Animated Series Rises 10-episode marathon, spotlighting Batman villains, broadcasts on the same day.
