Although it's not on sale until we're deep into 2011, Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham City, the sequel to their Batman: Arkham Asylum -- easily the best Batman game ever and one of the best reviewed titles of recent memory -- is the most anticipated video game of its kind. Waiting for the puzzlingly named Arkham City has gamers and Dark Knight devotees wound tight enough to snap, and it is for this reason that an new anemic teaser trailer for the game has left fans with feelings of profound disappointment, and why ComicsAlliance advises you to instead check out a homemade parody clip that will more effectively satisfy your Batman cravings while appropriately whetting your appetite for more.

Released exclusively to MSN Games UK, the new Batman: Arkham City teaser features some nondescript criminals getting stalked and knocked around by Batman for what seems like four seconds. It's very Batman-esque, certainly, and extremely cool-looking on the technical side. But as far as teasers go, this is more like a kick to the geek groin. We'll have to wait for the Spike TV Video Game Awards to see a more complete trailer for Arkham City.

In the meantime, what's far more satisfying is a recent video produced by nerd comedy troupe Mega64, who show us what it'd be like if some of Rocksteady's Arkham Asylum mechanics were ported to real life. See a man dressed up as Batman terrorizing criminals and innocent passersby, and what happens when a righteous citizen runs up against one of the Joker's pathetic goons (teaser: it's awesome).
