Well, it looks like the folks at Rocksteady Studios really want to get our attention, huh? Not 24 hours after we finally got to see some gameplay footage from Batman: Arkham City, news drops that the Riddler (who made a kinda-sorta appearance in Arkham Asylum) is stepping out of the digital shadows and will be featured prominently in the upcoming game -- and there's pictures to prove it.
Although exactly what role the Riddler will play in Arkham City remains a mystery [Senior Editor's note: Or perhaps, a riddle? HAW!], Destructoid.com reports that Rocksteady marketing game manager Dax Ginn has confirmed that Edward Nygma will indeed be getting all up in Batman's business in the upcoming, highly anticipated action-adventure game. The source also revealed three new screenshots featuring the King of Conundrums in all his creepy glory, finally giving a face to all those Riddler challenges from Arkham Asylum.

While signs point to The Riddler being relegated to side missions once again, Ginn was hesitant to label them as such, telling Destructoid, "The Riddler experience is not part of the main story, but you can see how much work we put into it. It seems to do them a disservice to call them 'side missions,' because we take them really, really seriously."

Batman: Arkham City is set to hit stores on October 18 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
