One of the most interesting parts of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be the introduction of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Before the hero gets her very own solo adventure, we’ll see her alongside Batman and Superman as they brood at each other and duke it out. But how big is Gadot’s part in the film, exactly? Director Zack Snyder is promising some big things.

In an interview with EW, Snyder talked a big game when it comes to Wonder Woman:

She plays a super-important part. In a lot of ways, she’s the gateway drug to
the rest of the
Justice League.

That’s an interesting choice of words, suggesting that Gadot’s Wonder Woman might be one of the highlights of the film, and a way to get fans hooked on Snyder’s upcoming Justice League plans. Gadot herself chimed in, acknowledging the pressure of fan expectations and talking up some swordplay:

‘There are so many expectations for this character, it’s impossible not to
be a little nervous about it (…) I love doing the swordplay stuff. It’s another skill to add to my collection.

Wonder Woman isn’t particularly known for carrying a sword, though — that would be her lasso. When asked how skilled she is with Wonder Woman’s most recognizable weapon, Gadot said, “I’m still working on that.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred and Jason Momoa as Aquaman, along with Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams and Holly Hunter.

The film hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
