Well, it’s been almost 26 years, but we’re finally here; October 21, 2015. This is the day in the far flung future that Marty McFly traveled to in 1989’s Back to the Future Part II; The impossibly distant future time where everyone would have hoverboards and flying cars. I assume you’re reading this as you put on your talking clothes, getting ready to eat your miraculously expanding pizzas.

So yeah, the real future is a giant letdown. I guess we have smart phones, and those kinda talk to us sometimes (though they’re not nearly as respectful as Marty’s jacket was). We haven’t gotten Jaws 5 yet, much less Jaws 19. We did briefly entertain the idea of playing our video games without using our hands quite as much. I’m trying to make a case for their being some pros to go along with the cons of our current reality versus the future wonderland the late 80s imagined for us, but I don’t know if any amount of in-app purchases or selfie-sticks will ever ease the pain of not being able to glide around town on a hoverboard.

But, we do have an outstanding collection of some of the most fun Back to the Future trilogy fanart the internet has to offer, and that’s not too bad. Oh hey, the internet! There wasn’t really an internet to speak of in the BTTF version of 2015, and I love the internet! You probably do to! How else would you scroll through this amazing gallery of art without the internet? Take that, Back to the Future!
