Take A Trip To The Relatively Murder-Free Classic Riverdale In ‘Best Of Archie 2016′ [Preview]

Something that’s been overlooked pretty often since the big Archie Reboot is that the company is still publishing stories featuring the classic, gag-centric versions of the characters. It’s publishing a lot of them, actually — every single Archie Digest features a new lead story about the gang, and in 2016, that amounted to over 300 pages of new material in that classic Archie style.

Now, it’s all being collected in the Archie: Best of 2016 Digest Annual, a 348-page digital collection out next week.

For new readers who have come in from the TV show or the newer comics, it might be a little weird to see a Riverdale that isn’t defined by murders, sexy encounters, and centuries-old maple syrup feuds, but if you’ve been jonesing for your fix of Archie Prime, this is the place to go — and you can see a preview of four separate stories below. And only one opens up with true horror.
