Bethany Craig Illuminates Pokemon, Velma, the Cheshire Cat and More [Art]

You may remember being wowed as a kid when you noticed how Ezra Jack Keats and Eric Carle could build depth out of their children’s book illustrations. Bethany Craig’s art mystifies us in much the same way through her use of colors and texture. Her Pokémon tribute to Duskull could even haunt your heart just little bit.Craig’s wondrous Tumblr feed and illustration blog contain brilliantly illuminated portraits of the Chesire Cat and Naruto’s Mighty Guy. They’re also loaded with plenty of other doodles and animation studies that ‘toon lovers will dig.

She works well with action poses and obviously has a keen eye for simple poses and body language. She obviously has a lot of fun working on them, so indulge yourself and enjoy the visuals while you’re checking her stuff out.

We’re particularly fond of her “Sock Fox,” who looks like she comes from some crazy world that lies between TRON: Legacy and a vintage cocktail party.
