This afternoon's "Torchwood" panel at Comic-Con was by most standards a relaxed celebration of the successful third season "Torchwood: Children of Earth" in the United States. No major news, no shocking announcements, just some recognizable faces and creators from the show thanking fans for their support.

Then during a Q&A with the audience, one fan asked actor John Barrowman, who plays Torchwood's immortal leader on the series, if he'd be interested in playing any other roles.

"You know what I want to play? Captain America," said Barrowman adding that obtaining the role "so won't happen." Another con-goer disagreed, telling Barrow, "I think you're the only one who could play Captain America."

While it's unlikely fans will see Barrowman take up the striped shield (he looks a bit more like Superman anyway), would he really be a less standard choice than the once-rumored Will Smith?
