The Awesomely Abysmal ‘Captain Power’ Rap Will ‘Power On’ Your Heart [Video]

If you want to hear about the cultural significance of the 1987 CGI-enhanced live action sci-fi franchise Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future, all you really need to know is that it involved a killer TV show with interactive action figures. Until earlier this week, I’d have said the same in regards to the show’s plot, but Topless Robot’s recent uncovering of an old Captain Power rap video has rendered all previous synopses essentially worthless (and there were good ones to begin with!). What is Captain Power? In the wake of this stunningly stiff, reggae-infused “Digitize” video, a better question may be, “What isn’t Captain Power?” Open your mind to entirely new categories of confounded-ness after the cut.
