When Boom! Studios announced its first-look deal for comics and graphic novels based on Cartoon Network's original comedies, we took a look at a few of the newest shows set to debut and picked a few of the most likely candidates to cross over. While The Amazing World of Gumball proved to be the first cartoon to become a new comic as part of the deal, a new press kit from CN has me feeling like Skyler Page's Clarence, set to debut on April 14, would also be a solid choice too.

Clarence is the story of an optimistic young goofball who is new at school and excited about making friends. Like super excited. Like, has-his-mom-bake-dozens-of-pizza-poppers-for-a-sleepover-he-invites-his-entire-class-to excited.

Cartoon Network's press kit for the show is kind of like a magnetic version of Colorforms -- those sets of vinyl cartoon/comic character cutouts you can position and reposition on laminated cardboard environments -- and for a guy who spent a healthy portion of his childhood playing with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Real Ghostbusters Colorforms sets, it hit harder than a billion Buzzfeed lists. If that weren't enough, the set contains word balloons for each of the show's main characters (Clarence, Jeff and Sumo) that can be mixed and matched, comic book style.

Boom! hasn't indicated that a Clarence comic is in the works just yet, but this press kit gives us an idea of what one could look like just the same thanks to its Colorforms-like goodness.
