Superhero comic fans love alternate universes and the doppelgangers that reside within, which is part of the reason that Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel's "Spider-Verse" was such a hit. To celebrate the many incarnations of the webhead, Mondo have just released two limited edition prints by DKNG, along with a set of Spider-Verse themed enamel pins by Tom Whalen featuring Peter, Miles and Gwen.

What You Might Have Missed In Marvel's June 2017 Solicitations
Every month, comic publishers release their solicitation announcements to provide information to readers and retailers on comics that are coming out in three months’ time, but there’s so much information dropped at once that a lot can slip through the cracks. This month in Marvel's June solicitations, there are some big returns of forgotten characters and costumes, a surprising-yet-welcome guest artist worth talking about, and two big debuts of mystery characters in familiar roles.

Sony’s Spiderverse is steadily growing. With plans for at least one Venom movie announced last week, the wheel of spinoffs has been set in motion. Today, the studio announced it was working on a team-up movie with heroes Silver Sable and Black Cat, with a script by Chris Yost, who’s one of the writers of Marvel’s upcoming Thor: Ragnarok.

Well, that certainly took a pleasantly unexpected turn. Just days after the writers of Deadpool assured fans that we’d know who’s playing Cable in the sequel “very soon” comes a very interesting update. Michael Shannon is the latest frontrunner for the role of the comic-book character making his highly-anticipated debut in Deadpool 2. Although there are still a few other names on the studio’s shortlist, everyone’s favorite weirdo is the current favorite — because obviously.

Spider-Man Marvel Legends Sandman BAF Wave Review
When it comes to Marvel Legends, Spider-Man is about as bankable a hero you can find. As the centerpiece for numerous lines in a given year, Spider-Man's action figure waves have been among the most diverse and impressive in Hasbro's Marvel Legends catalog. The latest Spider-Man series, which features the Sandman as a build-a-figure, is a prime example of everything Hasbro has gotten right with Legends, even if it also includes a few figures that fail to impress.

The Odds Are Stacked And The Stakes Are High In 'Nick Fury' #1
The younger, faster, fitter version of Nick Fury has been around in the Marvel Universe for a good while now, but outside of a few adventures in anthology titles, he really hasn't had the chance to shine as his own character. That all changes soon, as James Robinson, ACO, Hugo Petrus and Rachelle Rosenberg's Nick Fury #1 comes out next month, and we've got a first look at the gorgeous unlettered art.

Will Michael Pena and Judy Greer Return in ‘Ant-Man’ Sequel?
Ant-Man and the Wasp isn’t scheduled to hit theaters until next July, but with Marvel gearing up to start production this July, you’d think that everyone who’s returning from the first film would know about it by now. That’s not the case for both Michael Peña and Judy Greer, neither of whom seem to know if they’re coming back for the Ant-Man sequel. Your guess is as good as theirs.

At this point, you could probably use the MCU to delineate the passage of time. For instance, in just one more Marvel movie, it’ll be summertime, and we only have two more Marvel movies until Black Panther arrives. As we anxiously await T’Challa’s first solo film, new photos and video from the South Korea set have landed online, teasing a big chase sequence in which the hero rides atop a sports car. That series of words is definitely exciting.

Anyone who partook of Netflix’s Iron Fist could recognize the series’ issues extend beyond casting, though we still wonder how things might have gone with a more culturally appropriate Danny Rand. That concern in particular hasn’t made inroads with the Marvel character’s co-creator, who shares a harsh response over “cultural appropriation and crap like that, which just makes me furious.”

Censoring America: Comics And Propaganda, Part II
It's been a long, hard road for comic books in Russia. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, attempts to build a comics community consistently met with economic hardship, and failed. It's only over the last several years that Western comic books have become a popular medium in Russia, and in that very short time, there have already been three highly publicized incidences of comics censorship.
