'Bloodshot USA' #1 Features Bloodshot And Ninjak [Preview]
With Bloodshot's relaunch in October as the four-issue Bloodshot USA looming large, that raises the question of just how Jeff Lemire and Doug Braithwaite are going to top what they've already done. And now, with a preview of the first issue, we know exactly how. First, they're going to infect the entire population of Manhattan with Bloodshot nanites that'll turn them into mindless killing machines, and second --- oh hell yes --- Ninjak's getting involved.

The question most often asked of the ComicsAlliance staff is a variation of, “Which comic books should I be reading?” or, “I’m new to comics, what’s a good place to start?” The Wednesday deluge of new comic books, graphic novels and collected editions can be daunting even for the longtime reader, much less for those totally unfamiliar with creators, characters and publishers, and the dark mysteries of comic book shopping like variants, pre-ordering, and formats. It’s with these challenges in mind that we’ve created Best Comic Books Ever (This Week), an ongoing guide curated by the ComicsAlliance staff. This is where new comics readers and seasoned Wednesday shoppers alike can find our picks of the best books the medium has to offer.

Gather 'round, children, and let me tell you a tale of times past. Back in the days before the Internet, back when you could not read through a disturbingly thorough summary of any comic book character and/or lightsaber fighting style anytime you wanted, we got our information from Who's Whos and Official Handbooks, and by gum, that's how we liked it. Nowadays, even in this more modern era, Valiant is keeping the dream alive with Valiant Universe Handbook 2016, a compendium of information that'll bring you up to date on characters like Bloodshot, X-O Manowar, Faith, and of course, Ninjak. Really though, the only fact you need to know about that dude is that he rules. Check out a preview!

Valiant Celebrates One Million Copies Of 'X-O Manowar'
X-O Manowar, the story of a barbarian king who gets a suit of alien power armor and just goes on a rampage with a lightning sword, is one of the single best premises in the history of comic books. And apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks so. Since Robert Venditti and Cary Nord relaunched the series in 2012, chronicling Aric of Dacia's battles against the Vine, Ninjak, and other worldwide threats, the series has racked up sales totaling one million copies.

Generally speaking, comics are built around endless conflicts. It's why we have the concept of the arch-enemy, the nemesis who keeps returning, implacable and unstoppable, locked in combat for eternity. And in all of comics, no rivalry, no enmity has ever been as fierce and undying as that of Soccer Player versus Dinosaur. Okay, so maybe that's not one that we're used to seeing. But if you don't want to see a velociraptor get Penalty Kicked into the atmosphere, then you and I are looking for different things out of comics. And in November, soccer player versus dinosaur is what we're getting from B. Clay Moore, Clayton Henry, and Lewis LaRosa in Savage. Check out a preview!

Face The Dying One In 'Wrath Of The Eternal Warrior' #10 [Preview]
Listen: I kind of love The Dying One. I mean, of course I would, right? He's a supervillain who dedicated years - decades, even! - to building a massive underground labyrinth full of deathtraps that are designed explicitly for killing a man who literally cannot die. That's the kind of dedication I love in my antagonists. But then he had to go and ruin it. In next week's issue, as the Dying One finally comes face to face with the Eternal Warrior for bargaining and a fight to the death, he went and opened his big mouth and committed the ultimate sin: He talked smack about Ninjak. Obviously this cannot stand. Check out a preview (including this heinous act) and the start of Gilad's biggest throwdown yet below!

Valiant Joins Quidd to Offer First Trading Card Set in 20 Years
There comes a time in a comic book company's revival where you can no longer call it a revival and you have to acknowledge that it has finally arrived. There are a number of factors to calculate in such an equation, but things like steady releases of consistent, quality books isn't quite as important to the science of the matter as more tangential ideas like board games, action figures and of course, trading cards. Faithful readers, thanks to the launch of its own digital trading card series within the Quidd app, today is the day Valiant has made it.

Roberts And Robertson Launch 'Harbinger Renegades' In November
Life in the Valiant universe is tough. I mean, not only do you have alien invaders and the unkillable soldiers of Project Rising Spirit to worry about, and not only are your chances pretty slim of actually getting to hang out with Ninjak, but they're also going through a sudden surge of super-powered "psiots" that are putting pretty much everyone on edge --- especially after a group of renegades blew the lid off the Harbinger project a while back. Clearly, the only option for super-powered youngsters is safety in numbers, and that's exactly what's happening in Harbinger Renegades. In November, Rafer Roberts of A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong, and Darick Robertson of The Boys are teaming up to bring you a new team that's set to take on the streets of the Valiant universe --- and you can catch a first look at the new series below!

Take A Trip To The Future In 'Ninjak: The Fist And The Steel'
Ninjak has been having a pretty rough year. Not only did he travel to a horrifying realm of supernatural terror in "Operation: Deadside," but once he got home to his castle to rest up, the whole thing came crashing down around his head as part of a plot by the villainous Roku that left him with absolutely nothing. But cheer up, Ninjak! Even if things are going bad now, maybe they'll get better in the future! Wait, no, hang on. I'm looking at the future now, courtesy of Matt Kindt and Andres Guinaldo's Ninjak #18, and it looks like it's just way more fighting and murder. But hey, at least he has a best friend in Gilad, the Eternal Warrior! That's gotta count for something, right? Check out a preview!
