The dirt hits the fan in Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye #3 by Gerard Way, Jon Rivera, and Michael Avon Oeming. Chloe Carson has been revealed as the lost heir to an underground kingdom, something even she didn't know, and the corrupt company Cave used to work for is after her.

But as he rushes to save his daughter from the literal monster that's chasing her in this exclusive preview for issue #3, Cave has three important advantages: a lifetime of adventuring experience, a tricked out car that can burrow into the ground at high speed, and a best friend who happens to be Wild Dog. Oh, and he also has a cybernetic eye, but we're still figuring out what's going on with that thing.

All of this is pretty new to Chloe, who's not thrilled about DC's most unstable vigilante throwing a bomb into her car to help motivate her to jump out of it in the midst of a high-speed chase. Adventuring runs in the family, though, so I imagine she'll get up to speed (so to speak) before long.

Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye #3 is out December 21, and features a variant cover by Paul Rentler that will form a larger image when combined with December's other Young Animal variant covers. Check back on Monday for our interview with Cave Carson co-writer Jon Rivera.

Here's the official word from DC:

Cave and his ad hoc team of spelunkers (his daughter Chloe and best-bud mechanic Jack Wheeler) have answered the call to adventure! But as they search for the lost city of Muldroog, Cave’s employer sends a crack team of his own in the latest in subterranean transportation: the Mighty Mole MK 2, led by a famed explorer from Cave’s past. And it looks like they’re out for more than just the return of EBX property...
