Thanks in part to the recent wave of must-have "Blackest Night" action figures from DC Direct, our bookshelf has been kind of a bummer lately. After all, it's hard to keep your chin up with there's a dead, nightmarish version of Martian Manhunter staring back at you with his cold, soulless eyes.

Fortunately for us, things will be getting sunny again real soon as DC's The Source has revealed the initial waves of "Brightest Day" inspired action figures. Sure, there's still plenty of story left to be told in the aftermath of the rise of the Black Lanterns, but that certainly shouldn't get in the way of populating your workspace (and maxing out your credit card) with the major players of DC current crossover. The first two waves of figures are shown in the image, and include the likes of Aquaman, Green Arrow, Hawkgirl, Deadman, Martian Manhunter, Firestorm, Hawkman and Mera, and according to The Source, should be in stores by March. Will we see more waves after that? If we've learned anything from DC lately, there's always hope!
