Mutilating vintage comics is a task usually reserved for unruly cats, misunderstood grandparents and the ghost of Dr. Fredric Wertham, but one company has found a far more noble cause.

Comicwallet.com redefines what it means to cut up comics. Rather than throwing away money, the company is simply giving buyers a stylish new place to put it.

Here's the official product description:

"A Comic Wallet is a billfold that is made from a single page of a vintage comic book. Each wallet has been laminated on the outside and reinforced on the inside to increase the durability of the product. Comic Wallets are tight and compact and feature a 6 card slot in each side."

While there are plenty of ready-to-go wallets (including a new "Blackest Night" line), the manufacturer also takes commissions, essentially arranging to custom-tailor a wallet from whatever comic you can find.

They retail for $30, making them a less-expensive (and vegan) alternative to leather.
