Beastly Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles paintings seem to be a theme this week-at least in our browser histories. Gamers out there reading this may already be familiar with David Rapoza's cover artwork for Super Meat Boy. He takes an epic approach to his paintings, summoning the emotion of a Drew Struzan or Frank Frazetta piece. His subjects of choice, however, are cartoon and toy characters from decades past.
In fact, it's too bad animating his ThunderCats artwork would take forever, because his Lion-O is absolutely stunning. His Bebop and Rocksteady are actually horrifying, and it looks like he's just getting started. Splinter, April O'Neil, Casey Jones and Shredder all pop up in his CGHUB gallery, but there's a plenty of room left for some Heroes in a Half Shell.

Keep your eyes on that space for more. Maybe if he's got the time he'll be able to work in a Triceraton and some Neutrinos as well.
