Did you miss out on the DC Collectibles Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile when it released last fall? Perhaps you didn't have enough money at the time. Maybe you were just waiting for some shelf space to clear up. Or by chance you've just been waiting for it to be repackaged in a deluxe edition with a new paint job and a few figures to make it an even more special collectible. That might seem like a very specific instance, but it's one that is applies quite well to today's announcement from DC Collectibles.

Whatever mysterious circumstances kept you from adding the killer collectible to your collection, know now that you'll have another chance later this summer. DC Collectibles is revamping the animated Batmobile ever so slightly for re-release in August, and this time it won't just be sold all by its lonesome. You'll also be getting the dynamic duo, with new capes, and a Bat-signal to call Gotham's protectors to your aid.

According to the Nerdist, the Batmobile will be almost identical to the previously released version, but the grill, rims and exhaust headers will get a shiny coat of paint to make them appear more metallic. Additionally, the Batman and Robin included will be the same classic figures already released (sans accessories), though they'll ditch the soft vinyl capes in favor of cloth capes to make fitting them in the Batmobile cockpit easier.

The Bat-signal has seen release in various forms over the years, but excluding the Batmobile, the recent DC Collectibles B:TAS releases have primarily been focused solely on the figures and not environmental add-ons. The working signal is a nice touch to include here, as the last time one was released as a mass market figure accessory, it was with The Dark Knight Movie Masters. If you try to find that now, you'll have to hit the second-hand market, which doesn't make it cheap to acquire. It's also cheaper than trying to hunt down a Hot Toys version from the John Blake deluxe figure.

The Batman: The Animated Series Deluxe Batmobile will be available in August for $175. No pre-orders are open yet, but with Toy Fair just around the corner, it should be up for order soon.
