We all know that Marvel Studios has its movies planned out through 2028 (not an exaggeration, a real date 14 years in the future), but what about DC Entertainment? All we've heard so far is a set date for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (May 2016, pushed back from summer 2015) and some nebulous stuff about a Justice League movie, a Justice League Dark movie and some other projects.

Well, according to entertainment reporter Nikki Finke's website, things may get a whole lot clearer at Comic-Con International in San Diego. Finke has what she says is DC and Warner Bros.' movie schedule (though "a lot is in flux") through May 2018.

And it includes a solo Wonder Woman movie.

May 2016 – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
July 2016 – Shazam
Christmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Christmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

There are some particularly odd aspects to this list that make me a tad wary of it. First off, wasn't Batman V Superman supposed to be Man of Steel 2? That's how even director Zack Snyder has been talking about it. Second, this is a very ambitious list. Three movies a year is more than even Marvel is planning (it's sticking to two a year for the most part), though Marvel has the benefit of its characters appearing in movies made by other studios (maybe "benefit" is debatable considering the quality of some of those films).

Also: No Justice League Dark movie? That may come as a shock to Guillermo del Toro, who's claimed to have been developing the project for some time.

One definite, shining light: There's a solo Wonder Woman movie on the list.

If DC/WB really is planning to churn out three movies a year, it'll be interesting to see how good they end up being, what kinds of directors they're going to snag, and what casting is going to be like. Marvel's had some difficulties with director turnover (there's one very recent high-profile case), and adhering to strict release dates could steer some directors away.

Casting is also going to be strange because DC is in the midst of building a pretty major TV universe. None of the movies on this list would necessarily have to star Green Arrow, but one is a Flash team-up movie, and there's already a TV Flash. Would it be the same Flash from the television show, or would they replicate the disconnect of Smallville and Superman Returns featuring two totally separate versions of Clark Kent?

According to Finke, casting is what set back the release of Batman V Superman, because:

Like Marvel’s The Avengers, there will be cameos of superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be introduced. And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles.

That seems to indicate that the movie Flash won't be Grant Gustin, who will play the character on the upcoming CW series. That means we'll have multiple DC universes floating out there in the ether. Two Barry Allens. Two Bruce Waynes.

We're talking about a Crisis on Infinite Media here.
