Did M.O.D.O.K. Predict Disney’s Marvel Purchase?

Yesterday’s announcement that Disney will purchase Marvel Comics for a handsome sum of $4 billion took everyone by surprise, flooring fans and inspiring chatter across the Internet.

But it shouldn’t have been a surprise – not if you’re a regular viewer of the conspiracy-laden “Marvel Super Heroes: What The–?!” videos posted weekly at Marvel.com.

Episode 5, “M.O.D.O.K.’s Moments” showcased the faux history of “everyone’s favorite little big-head thing” including a clip of the mental organism designed only for killing at the helm of Steamboat Willie itself – a clear nod to Disney and Mickey Mouse’s third (yet arguably most famous) animated appearance.

The most recent installment in the series debuted last Friday – a full weekend ahead of the official announcement, yet somehow the truth eluded us all.

Curse you M.O.D.O.K.!!!!!!

On second thought, maybe it WAS just a coincidence…
