When Warner Bros. announced that Terriers and Grounded for Life star Donal Logue had been cast as Harvey Bullock in the new FOX series about a young Jim Gordon, Gotham, some wondered if the famously long-haired and bearded actor could look the part of the iconic character.

The studio released its first official photo of Logue in costume today, and it the costume designers seem to have pulled it off, though he's a little more slick looking than Bullock looks in the comics and the actor's goatee remains. Check out the full image after the jump.

A press release from Warner Bros. includes a description of the TV version of Bullock, whose story differs slightly from the comics version:

Jim Gordon’s partner and mentor, the rough-around-the-edges Detective Harvey Bullock  plays loose with police procedure, but gets results — and he does so with old-school, hard-ass panache.

The Warner Bros. press team has promised another Gotham character image reveal tomorrow, so stay tuned

The series pilot will be written by Bruno Heller (The Mentalist) and directed by Danny Cannon (Nikita). Both will executive produce.

Other members of the cast include Ben McKenzie as Gordon, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Sarah Essen, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Robin Lord Taylor as The Penguin, Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne and Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle.
