While there's a lot of gossip and potential news about Marvel's 2014 movie plans to be announced at San Diego Comic-Con next month, there might be an entirely different, potentially better, reason for Marvel movie fans to make their way to the show. Just think small. The Hollywood Reporter has the surprising news that Edgar Wright has just finished shooting an Ant-Man test reel as proof of concept for his take on Marvel's smallest super-hero. According to the site, the Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World director spent "just under a week shooting footage for a reel that will be used to test out the potential look and tone of his movie, as well as to decide how convincing Ant-Man's powers look onscreen."

Wright has been developing Ant-Man with writing partner Joe Cornish for close to a decade, now, and it's still some distance away; even if Marvel loves the test reel, he still has The World's End, the third in his unofficial trilogy of movies with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, to complete before he can start work on the project. But will Marvel share any of the scenes to fans at the convention? Stranger things have happened...
