Everyone loves comic book trivia, but with 75 years of superhero comics behind us right now, there’s always some new obscure fact to learn. That’s why ComicsAlliance is going deep into the minutiae of your favorite characters in our continuing video series. You think you know comics? Well, here’s a few things you might not know!

This week we're taking a look at Elektra, the Mediterranean's most successful ninja assassin. Whether a member of the Hand, lover of Daredevil, or agent of SHIELD, Elektra has consistently proven herself to be Marvel's most dangerous woman alive and then dead and then alive again. Find out all about Elektra's inspiration and creation, her strangest adventures, and legacy both in and out of the stories.

Show notes:

  • To get Elektra's earliest appearances, you should get the Daredevil by Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Omnibus. Also: you should own these comics already, shame on you.
  • This collection includes all of the solo Elektra material by Frank Miller, including Elektra Assassin (with art by Bill Sienkiewicz), Elektra Lives Again, and more.
  • As long as you're buying $100 omnibus editions, you should get the Daredevil by Frank Miller Omnibus Companion, which has minimal Elektra content (i.e., her retold origin in Man Without Fear), but some damn fine comics you should own anyway.
  • For more recent Elektra adventures, give this Elektra by Greg Rucka Ultimate Edition a shot.
  • Elektra's most recent, beautifully (like...SUPER beautifully) illustrated solo series starts here.
