Did you get the headline? Did you soak it in? Because that was no accident. Where’s my Pulitzer?

(They still give Pulitzers for the best dong jokes in headlines, right? That’s what I thought.)

Moving on from my infantile humor, hey look! It’s the idol of millions, the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing! A new trio of images from Empire revealed the new version of Yancy Street’s favorite son from director Josh Trank’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.

For point of reference, here’s what Michael Chiklis looked like as the Thing in the previous Fantastic Four movies:

As you can see, Chiklis’ Thing looked very different from Bell’s. His was a bit more human looking, probably because it was actually played by Chiklis inside a big rubbery rock costume. The new Thing was motion captured by Jamie Bell and then created by a computer, giving him more monstrous texture. (Also: Who thought Chiklis needed six-pack abs made out of rocks? That was a poor decision.)

Empire also debuted two more images from the film. The first features a bunch of scientists in green radiation suits examining someone (Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic?). The second is a group shot of the FF — Teller, Bell, Kate Mara as the Invisible Woman, and Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch — before their transformation by cosmic rays (or whatever transforms them in Trank’s version) into their super-heroic alter egos. Take a look:

Fantastic Four opens in theaters on August 7. I hope to milk at least three more bad joke headlines out of the movie before then.
