Sure, we've been hearing quite a bit about Marvel and DC's upcoming slate of comic-based movies like "Green Lantern" and "Thor" stateside, but in Italy, the upcoming major motion pic based on long-running indie "Dylan Dog" is all the rage.

At least, we're assuming it is -- do any of you speak Italian?

The eagle-eyed folks at Quiet Earth have found what appears to be the first look at "Dylan Dog: Dead of Night" and on top of some solid zombie-killin' action by Brandon Routh, it looks like the Italian kids are super-pumped for the flick (as best portrayed by the line of Italian schoolgirls shouting excited, one-word reviews -- although, again, not Italian speakers here). While not the first film inspired by "Dylan Dog" (go get some knowledge points from the Topless Robot commenters regarding this), "Dylan Dog: Dead of Night" -- starring Routh, Peter Stormare and Taye Diggs and directed by Kevin Monroe ("TMNT") -- is definitely creating quite a bit of buzz despite the fact that there's no official release date (other than "coming in 2010") and no extravagant productions at Comic-Con this year. The comic series -- originally published in Italy, created by Tiziano Sclavi -- follows a destitute paranormal investigator on a series of worldwide "nightmare" adventures.
