Funko To Vinyl-ize The Uglydoll x DC Comics Collaboration With New Figures In 2014
If you thought the Uglydoll x DC Comics collaboration was going to stop at plush versions of Babo as Superman and Ice-Bat as Batman, prepare for plastic. Funko will be bringing vinyl versions of Uglydoll characters decked out in DC superhero costumes into the fold in 2014. First up? Ice-Bat as Batman, Babo as Superman and Wedgehead as Robin.
Available for around $10 in February, the roughly 3.75" tall vinyl figures are just the latest in an ever-expanding Uglydoll empire. Funko's been producing Blox and Pop! Vinyl figures based on David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim's Uglydoll characters for awhile now, along with a growing assortment of DC toys across its many vinyl and papercraft lines, so this collaboration is a logical one from a fan perspective.
It seems unlikely that this collaboration between Uglydoll owners Pretty Ugly and DC Comics will extend to comics considering that Viz is currently releasing an anthology-style Uglydoll original graphic novel series, but considering the amount of all-ages content coming from DC Digital these days -- like Teen Titans Go! and the Scribblenauts Unmasked comics -- you never know what might surface in the future.
