While neither of the two live action adaptations of Hiroya Oku's "Gantz" manga have been completed, inquiries are already spilling in from would-be distributors around the globe to get it in front of ticket buyers. If the attention is based on the film's faithfulness to its source material, it could very well be warranted.

New promotional footage from Japanese television expands exponentially on details fans have been putting together since the film was announced last year. Not only do fans get a look at the mysteriously reincarnated unwitting alien hunters in action, they also get a glimpse of a certain green onion craving foe who seems to have picked up a "Where's Waldo" style sweater.

There's weapon use and subsequent explosions aplenty as protagonists Kei Kurono (Kazunari Ninomiya) and Masaru Kato (Ken'ichi Matsuyama a.k.a. L from "Death Note"). Fans won't know how accurate it is for sure until the first film debuts in winter 2011, (and hopefully not long after in international markets) but early footage looks pretty promising. Check out the "Gantz" footage after the jump to see what you think.
