Few things in life are as haunting as the gigantic 1/1 scale Gundam statue lording over the Namco Bandai factory in Shizuoka, Japan. How anybody can think that creating such a massive piece of cybernetic architecture is actually a good idea is beyond me - seriously, there are times where I feel like I'm the only one who remembers the "Terminator" franchise. Trust me, this Gundam statue is just the first step in a much larger robot revolution.

But even I'm not immune to the charms of the Gundam giant when put through a time lapse lens. YouTube user darwinfish105 has filmed a time lapse video of the Gundam, with clouds majestically soaring past the frozen gargantuan statue while passersby seemingly sprint by the sculpture's feet. As ethereal music wells up in the background, one could easily get the sense that this is a peaceful scene... until you see the Gundam emitting a strange, doubtlessly irradiated white light at the end of the time lapse video, at least. I've said it before and I'll say it again: robot revolution. Bank on it.

Check out the time lapse video after the jump.
