Check your calenders and get excited, True Believers -- we're a little over a month away from the premiere of the first of Marvel Films' highly-anticipated summer 2011 double bill, Thor (May 6!). Which also means we're getting close to the release of Thor: God of Thunder -- the upcoming action-adventure video game based on the flick. However, in case anyone needed reminding of that, SEGA has been quick with the friendly nudges thanks to a recent deluge of screenshots, gameplay videos, trailers, and now, a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process featuring the game's top developers. Check it out after the jump.

So what have we learned? Well, it looks like the game will not be a retelling of the movie and gamers will be playing an all new, original story in which Matt Fraction played a major role. We also learned that the Wii version -- on top of giving Thor his more comic-inspired duds -- will also be a different game than its PS3 and 360 counterparts. Other than that, it looks like the developers seem pretty confident in the product, but as we all know, it's always wise to take these types of games with a healthy dose of fanboy skepticism. In any case, let's just hope it'll at least be fun to wreck shop with Mjolnir for a few hours.

Thor: God of Thunder is set it hit all major consoles and the Nintendo DS/3DS on May 3.
