It seems 2012 may be the year of Gon. Masashi Tanaka's tiny orange dino will not only get his own 50-episode CG animated series and two forms of new manga in April, but according to a new website launched by Namco Bandai, Gon will get a Nintendo 3DS tie-in title in Japan come June 14. Entitled Gon: Baku Baku Baku Baku Adventure, the game will mark Gon's third videogame appearance. A minimalist Gon platformer (think Eco the Dolphin with headbutts) dropped on the SNES in 1994, and Gon was an unlockable fighter in Tekken 3 on the PlayStation in 1998. Screens from the new title seem to indicate that it will be a 3D adventure game in the style of the new Gon animated series. Unlike the '94 game, it looks like it will include a health or stamina bar of some kind, potentially fueled by apples and other fruit prevalent in the website's promo images. No word on whether it will include any kind of dialogue or remain as silent as the original Gon manga, but the squirrel image suggests word balloons of some kind will be present to help steer the game's narrative.
