A Silver Age: Guild Jewellery’s New DC Comics Silver Collection

In honor of DC Comics' 75th anniversary, Australian jewelry designer Guild Jewellery Design produced a collection of high quality sterling silver jewelry featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and as well as every Lantern Corps in the Emotional Spectrum. The collection includes earrings, necklaces/pendants, sterling silver power rings and bracelets. Unfortunately, the collection is currently available only in Australia.Guild Jewellery's line of lovely DC Comics products follows the ultra high-end collection released by nOir last year. According to Jeweller Magazine, Guild's is the first official DC jewelry to be sold in Australia. Guild owner Andrew Ioannou approached DC Comics for the exclusive rights to sell such products in Australia in New Zealand after "noticing a gap in the market."

"All the superhero jewellery in the market is cheap and, more importantly, unofficial. It seemed like a good idea to get in touch with one of the largest companies in the entertainment industry and ask to produce their jewellery," the self-professed comic book aficionado said.

"This is a whole new market for jewellery in Australia and it has the potential to have its own cult following," he added.

Guild's DC Comics earrings, necklaces, rings and other items are made from sterling silver, which Ioannou said helps to avoid the "gimmicky look of costume jewellery." Ioannou also noted that the material makes the jewelry less expensive for young people.

Presently, Guild's DC Comics collection is available at King's Comics in Sydney and the e-store Unleash The Geek, where you might have luck placing international orders.
