As hopeful as Justice League fans are about the possibility of DC Comics' flagship heroes teaming up in a proper feature film come 2015, it seems those currently enjoying the magical and mystical corner of DC's New 52 in titles like Swamp Thing and Justice League Dark have just as much to be excited about in the not-too-distant future. Following some early rumors, Hellboy and Pacific Rim director and current co-writer of Dark Horse's The Strain Guillermo del Toro has confirmed with IGN that he's currently writing the outline for a film referred to as Dark Universe, which could include iconic DC spooks such as Swamp Thing, The Demon Etrigan, John Constantine, Deadman, The Spectre, and the backwards-speaking spellcasters Zatara and his daughter Zatanna. The director also mentioned that he and his team were in talks with a writer he calls "the perfect guy for this job" adding that "We're doing it. Hopefully it will happen." You can watch the full interview with del Toro after the cut.
